A lonely vigil
Visual journalist Kelley King drove by the Joe Paterno statue outside Beaver Stadium after editing still photos and video of students mourning the imminent passing of the legendary football coach. She found one man, a Penn State alum, "who says he's not ready to leave just yet."
She made these photos at 4:30 a.m. and shared them on Twitter. Six hours later the Paterno family announced that Joe Paterno was dead.
King produced a video for The Daily Collegian in which people at the statue Saturday night responded to the question, "If you could say one thing to Joe Paterno right now, what would it be?"
