Ryan is a senior from Bloomington, Illinois majoring in broadcast journalism with a minor in english.  He has been involved with numerous radio shows, play-by-plays, beat writes and producing various Penn State athletics events since his first days of being on campus in the fall of 2012 with ComRadio. Since the fall of 2013, Ryan has been involved with State College’s ESPN Radio 1450 as an assistant producer intern and high school football reporter.

During the summer of 2014, Ryan co-hosted Sports Central with Cory Giger streaming over Altoona, Pa. and State College Pa. markets. Ryan also assisted USA Basketball media coverage in New York for World Cup of Basketball exhibition games.

Ryan was the marketing & communications intern for USA Track & Field at the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the media contact for the 2015 USATF Hershey Youth Outdoor Championships as well as the 2015 National Junior Olympics.

Ryan Hickey is a senior broadcast journalism major and business minor hailing from Long Island, New York. He is an assistant editor for ComRadio. He also contributes through hosting two radio shows, producing and calling play-by-plays. Additionally, Ryan also is a student staff writer for gopsusports.com, where he covers wrestling as well as writes features for other sports. Jeff Jezewski is a senior from Nanticoke, PA, aspiring to work professionally in the sports industry. Jeff is currently a production director for ComRadio while also serving as a play-by-play broadcaster and a producer.

In the summer of 2014, Jeff interned with Westwood One in New York City. Jeff served as a live event production intern in his time with the company. In the fall of 2014, he served as an intern for ESPN 1450 in State College.

In the summer of 2015, Jeff acted as a media relations intern for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.

Senior / Broadcast Journalism and Spanish

Maddie Brightman is the General Manger of ComRadio and a reporter and producer for the Centre County Report. A member of the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism, Maddie was recently a part of reporting trips to Cuba and Super Bowl 50. At ComRadio, she also serves as a producer for multiple Penn State sports has done play by play for Penn State football, baseball and lacrosse.

Maddie has interned at ESPN, Fox Sports Radio (Los Angeles), WBAL-TV (Baltimore) and 105.7 the Fan (Baltimore). One day, Maddie hopes to work behind the scenes in management or production for a national sports network. Andy Madore is a senior majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in labor and employee relations. He is one of the General Manager’s at ComRadio and is a member of the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism.

Mandy Bell is a senior from Chambersburg, PA, majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in English. She has served as a digital media intern with Little League International and an associate reporter for MLB.com based in Baltimore. While in CommRadio, Mandy has done play-by-play announcing for Penn State baseball, softball and basketball teams; written for baseball, basketball and football; and has produced for multiple sporting events, including the 2017 Rose Bowl. Jordan Tracy is a senior broadcast journalism major from Lancaster, PA who will graduate in May 2016. On campus he works as a resident assistant and participates in Penn State Network Television as a producer and host. He interned for CBS Local in New York City as the sports intern where he contributed written content and assisted in day to day operations. He has experience in radio, television and digital media.

Mike D’Avella is a senior from West Chester, Pa., majoring in broadcast journalism with a minor in business. He is a sports director, producer, play-by-play voice, talk show personality and beat writer on the sports side of CommRadio. Mike is also a member of the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism. He has completed internships with the Philadelphia Phillies in the summers of 2014 and 2015, MLB.com Advanced Media in the spring of 2016, the State College Spikes Minor League baseball production department in the summer of 2016 and Interscope Records in Santa Monica, California. He is also the drummer in a State College based Alternative Rock band called “The New Feel” who has performed at venues such as the Bryce Jordan Center. Mike plans to pursue a career in sports media or the entertainment industry in the hopes of becoming a producer or radio personality for a sports or music station. Most recently Madeline was part of a group of students who traveled to Cuba to report on games played by the Penn State Baseball team. She currently works with Intercollegiate Athletics and the Big Ten Network Student U helping to produce videoboard and live stream feeds. Madeline has gained valuable experience in behind the scenes production through internships and work with ESPN, MLB.com, Intercollegiate Athletics and Big Ten Network Student U, and QVC. Madeline looks forward to a career behind the camera in production and eventually a producer.
