Story posted October 20, 2021 in

At the time of the sixth week in the NFL, there have been a large number of possible MVP candidates so far.

These players have been leading their teams to first in their divisions or even an undefeated record. Here are the best candidates for the MVP award so far this season.

Derrick Henry, Running Back, Tennessee Titans

The 2020 Offensive Player of the Year has been stellar to start his 2021 campaign. Henry has been able to rack up over 750 yards and 10 touchdowns in only six games.

The Titans’ offensive line has been decimated with injuries, including one of the veterans Taylor Lewan. Regardless of the injuries, Henry has still been able to rack up amazing stats and is a front runner for MVP this season.

Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Baltimore Ravens

The 2019 MVP of the National Football League has been red hot to start his season. Jackson now holds the title of the quarterback with the most wins ever for a QB under the age of 25.

At this point in the season, Jackson has carried the injury-decimated Ravens to a 5-1 record. Baltimore was able to dominate the Chargers, making a statement win as well as beating the rival Chiefs.

Jackson has racked up 1600 passing yards and 390 rushing yards, with an outstanding 11 touchdowns so far.

Matthew Stafford, Quarterback, Los Angeles Rams

In the first week of the NFL season, Matthew Stafford had the best passer rating in a single game of his entire 13 year career… in his very first game with his new team.

Stafford this season is statistically playing the best football of his career. So far this season he's been able to put up 1800 passing yards and 16 touchdowns. The 2011 Comeback Player of the Year is a top-three MVP candidate at this point in the season.

Josh Allen, Quarterback, Buffalo Bills

The Wyoming alum Josh Allen has been nothing short of spectacular this season.

Allen’s helped by Stefon Diggs, Dawson Knox, Emmanuel Sanders and Zach Moss. They average over 30 points per game, which is good for second in the NFL behind Dallas.

The Bills have a dangerous defense and look to continue building off of it this season. Josh Allen has thrown for 15 touchdowns this season and has rushed for a pair of touchdowns so far as well.

Allen is a top MVP candidate this season and looks to do even better than the Bills’ 13-3 season last year.

Kyler Murray, Quarterback, Arizona Cardinals

The only undefeated team left in the NFL is lead by the leading MVP candidate as of right now - Kyler Murray.

Not only has Murray lived up to the hype of being first overall pick in 2019, but he has exceeded many people's expectations.

Murray’s stacked offense includes DeAndre Hopkins, AJ Green, Zach Ertz, Christain Kirk and a dangerous running back duo of James Connor And Chase Edmonds.

Murray looks to maintain the undefeated record and win his first MVP this season.
