Penn State football’s Kaytron Allen wins Big Ten Freshman of the Week

For the fourth consecutive week, a Penn Stater has taken home a Big Ten weekly award.

After Nicholas Singleton became the first freshman to win back-to-back Big Ten Freshman of the Week awards since Saquon Barkley in 2015, his counterpart Kaytron Allen wanted some hardware.

Allen rushed for 111 yards on 13 carries in the Nittany Lions' 33-14 win against Central Michigan. The victory marked the first time in his career he reached the century mark in rushing yards.

The Norfolk, Virginia, native scored his first two touchdowns in Week 3 against Auburn and followed it up with scoring on a 14-yard run in the second quarter against the Chippewas.

The longest rush in his short career came on a 37-yard run in the fourth quarter, and has yet to have a negative-yard rush in his career.

This is Allen’s first career Big Ten weekly award and the blue and white's third straight week of having a freshman win the award.
