South African woman accused of being a witch

Story posted June 1, 2011 in

Tozi Gonya's house is nestled quietly on a side street in Dunoon Township, just outside of Cape Town, South Africa. She takes in orphaned children to give them a better life and a chance for hope and love.

Gonya's life hasn't always been about hope and love however. Almost one year ago, she was at the center of a township investigation after a body was found on her door step -- and a neighbor accused her of witchcraft.
