Following a breakout junior season on Penn State’s defense, Brandon Smith is now headed to the NFL.

The linebacker and former four-star recruit is headed to the Carolina Panthers after being selected with the 120th pick in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Smith played 34 games during his career as a Nittany Lion and arguably had his best stretch during this past season in 2021.

During that season, Smith recorded a career-high 81 tackles to go along with five passes defended and four tackles for loss.

Smith was able to pick up a career-high of 10 tackles in two different games this season with both coming in big home games against Auburn and Michigan.

The Louisa, Virginia native now continues a three-year stretch of Nittany Lion linebackers getting drafted into the NFL as Smith joins Micah Parsons and Cam Brown.
