Heisman Watch: Finalists Revealed

The four finalists for the Heisman Trophy were announced on Monday with the official announcement coming Saturday night.

Three quarterbacks and one defensive player made the cut as they will all head to New York this weekend.

Here are all four finalists for this year's award.

Bryce Young, QB, Alabama

The first-year starter just gets better every week as Young is coming off arguably his best week yet.

In the SEC Championship game against Georgia, Young was able to take down the No. 1 Bulldogs with 421 passing yards and three touchdowns in a decisive 41-24 victory against one of the top defenses in the country.

Young boosted his Crimson Tide up to the top spot in the College Football Playoff with the win.

The sophomore finished the year with 4,322 passing yards and 43 touchdowns with just four interceptions.

He finishes fourth in passing yards and second in passing touchdowns.

C.J Stroud, QB, Ohio State

While Stroud didn’t have the chance to boost his resume last week like Young, the freshman quarterback had a phenomenal season.

Leading the Buckeyes to a 10-2 record and a Rose Bowl appearance, Stroud helped lead an Ohio State offense that was one of the best in the country.

Stroud finished with 3,862 passing yards, 38 touchdowns and five interceptions with one less game than the other two Heisman finalists at quarterback.

Statistically, Stroud finishes eighth in passing yards and fifth in passing touchdowns.

Kenny Pickett, QB, Pitt

The senior season is proving to be the best one for Pickett by a landslide as he punched his ticket to New York after a win in the ACC Championship over Wake Forest last week.

In a game that featured a fake slide leading to a rushing touchdown from Pickett, the gunslinger finished the season with 4,319 passing yards and 42 touchdowns against seven interceptions.

Finishing with an 11-2 record and a Peach Bowl appearance, Pickett led Pittsburgh to its highest win total since an 11-1 season in 1981 which ended in a Sugar Bowl victory.

Pickett finished fifth in passing yards and third in passing touchdowns.

Aidan Hutchinson, DE, Michigan

Now we get to the “one of these things is not like the other” part of the list.

Hutchinson has boosted both his Heisman and draft stock as of late with some stellar performances.

The senior defensive end followed up a three-sack performance against Ohio State with another sack in a Big Ten championship game win against Iowa.

Hutchinson finished the season with 13 sacks and two forced fumbles as he helped lead Michigan to its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance.

Hutchinson’s 13 sacks rank second in the country.
