Coming from the suburbs in the small state of Maryland, Samantha Mancuso attends Penn State as a Senior Broadcast Journalism major and a double minor in Business and English. She aspires to be a television Broadcaster.

Kristen Garrone
Senior / Broadcast Journalism & Economics
Kristen Garrone is a senior studying broadcast journalism and economics at Penn State. Growing up in the fast-paced northeastern news and sports market has greatly piqued her interest in a career of broadcast journalism. She very interested in sports, both college and professional. She’s a sports anchor and reporter for the Centre County Report and has worked internships around campus with WPSU-Sports and Unrivaled: The Penn State Football Story, Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, and the Lady Lions Basketball team.
Outside of State College, she’s been lucky enough to intern for the PGA’s New England Section and hope to pursue a career in the golf industry. She’s excited to take advantage of all of the opportunities she has here at PSU and am excited to begin a career in sports journalism.

Carlmichel Laguerre
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Carlmichel Laguerre is a Senior from Hempstead, Ny. He graduated from Stroudsburg High (PA) and he arrived at Penn State to pursue major in broadcast journalism with a minor in sociology. Carl Laguerre combines his knowledge of sports, news, history, and entertainment in order to provide the best quality show possible. He has aspirations to become a broadcaster for ABC.

Palmira Rios
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Palmira Rios is a senior from Dallas,Texas majoring in broadcast journalism with an emphasis on sports and minoring in Spanish. She is a student-producer for In the Game and host for Lady Lion Insider. Palmira aspires to one day be a reporter, talk-show host, or correspondent for any of the four major sports leagues.

Scott Cikowski
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Currently, Cikowski is a Videographer, Reporter, Field Producer, and Editor for the Centre County Report.
He is also a Production Assistant for “Unrivaled: The Penn State Football Story” and a videographer/editor for The Penn State Women’s Basketball show, “Courtside with Coquese.” Both shows air throughout Central Pennsylvania on WPSU - Penn State Public Media.
This Spring Scott will be traveling to Greece for one week as student within Penn State’s International Reporting Program.
He is a member of the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism within the College of Communications.

I’ve been immersed in sports since a young age. I would love to have a job with ESPN or the BigTen Network in some shape or form.
As a volleyball player at the university since 2011, I would love to carry my knowledge of the game and skills I’ve learned in school to continue to grow the game as an announcer or commentator.
