Six Penn Staters found homes in the 2021 NFL draft, but a seventh will be joining them as an undrafted free agent.

Lamont Wade now signs with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He’s the second Penn State product to join the Black and Gold via the 2021 draft process with tight end Pat Freiermuth hearing his name called at No. 55 overall.

The Clairton, Pennsylvania, native appeared in 47 games throughout his career, making 22 starts.

Wade finished his career in the blue and white with 153 tackles and 6 1/2 tackles for loss while also recording three sacks.

On top of that, Wade intercepted one pass in his career and defended 11 more. He also forced four fumbles and recovered three.

As a senior, Wade even found himself in the return game where he returned five kicks for 192 yards, running one of those five back for a 100-yard touchdown.

Wade joins Micah Parsons, Jayson Oweh, Pat Freiermuth, Shaka Toney, Michal Menet and Will Fries as Nittany Lions to join NFL teams this weekend.
