A mainstay on Penn State’s offensive line the last few years will now get to try his hand at the professional level.
Center Michal Menet, who hails from Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft Saturday evening.

For the last three seasons, Menet was a frequent starter among the Nittany Lions’ front line of blockers. Between 2018 and 2020, Menet started 34 games, all at center, for the blue and white.

In his first year as a starter as a redshirt sophomore, Menet was named to the Pro Football Focus Big Ten Team of the Week following Penn State’s victory over Wisconsin.

One season later, Menet served as a team captain for the Nittany Lions and was selected as an All-Big Ten honorable mention by both the coaches and media.

Once again, Menet received honors from Pro Football Focus but this time he was selected for its second team after Penn State’s blowout victory over Purdue.

For his last go-around with the program, Menet was named team captain and helped guide a Penn State offense that ranked second in the Big Ten in total offense in 2020.

Though the Nittany Lions went just 4-5 in 2020, Menet played well enough to earn third-team All-Big Ten honors from both the coaches and media. Additionally, he received an invitation to the Senior Bowl.

Now after being Penn State’s offensive line’s leader for the last three years, Menet will have the chance to serve in the same role as a center or perhaps transition to another position on the offensive line.

At 6 feet 4 inches and 306 pounds, Menet is an intimidating yet quick player. He will bring both qualities to the field for the Cardinals come this fall.
