Penn State announces home game themes for the upcoming 2023 season

The season may not begin until Sept. 2, but Penn State fans are excited about the upcoming campaign after the home game theme schedule was released on Monday afternoon.

Here is the complete list of themes:

Sept. 2, West Virginia: Helmet Stripe

Sept. 9, Delaware: Spirit Day / THON

Sept. 23, Iowa: White Out

Oct. 14, UMass: Generations of Greatness / Homecoming

Oct. 28, Indiana: Military Appreciation Day

Nov. 11, Michigan: Stripe Out

Nov. 18, Rutgers: ALL-U Senior Day

The contest against the Mountaineers is the second time the Nittany Lions have done the Helmet Stripe, with the first being against Michigan in 2021.

The Nittany Lions are set to square off against Iowa on Sept. 23 at 8:00 p.m. in the annual White Out game.

It is the second time the blue and white have faced the Hawkeyes in the White Out. The first matchup took place in 2009.

The contest marks the 27th time in program history it will play in CBS and the first time in Beaver Stadium since Sept. 19, 1998, a 20-13 victory over Pittsburgh.
