Penn State’s quarterback room just got that much stronger on Thursday afternoon.

Quarterback AJ Locke announced his commitment to become the latest Nittany Lion via Twitter. He is joining the program is a preferred walk-on.

Locke is the No. 13 player to commit to the blue and white in the 2023 class, and he is the second quarterback, joining three-star Marcus Stokes.

The Long Island, New York, native is extremely excited to come to Happy Valley.

“Penn State really showed a lot during my visits,” Locke said. “I’ve been there four or five times, it has always been a family vibe, and every recruit should consider Penn State.”

Locke measures 5′-10″ and 160 pounds while being unranked, but he is poised for a breakout senior campaign.

The rising senior plays for Holy Trinity, which captured a CHSAA title last season and has some of the top talents in New York.

Locke was last in Happy Valley for the blue-white game in April, and he mentioned it was a great experience.

“The blue-white game was something that I thought I would never be able to experience in my life,” Locke said. “Everyone was so welcoming, and it was all one big family.”

Penn State sits with a top-three class in the nation and sits atop the Big Ten in recruiting.
