Penn State in the NFL: Week 7

As Week 7 comes to a close and the trade deadline approaches former Nittany Lions are trying to help their teams improve.

Broncos (14) at Browns (17)

KJ Hamler is still on injured reserve for the Broncos.

Washington (10) at Packers (24)

Troy Apke served as a backup defensive back while Shaka Toney was inactive for Washington.

Adrian Amos had six tackles and two passes defended in the Packers win.

Chiefs (3) at Titans (27)

Sam Ficken is still on injured reserve for the Titans.

Falcons (30) at Dolphins (28)

Mike Gesicki led the Dolphins with seven receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Falcons on Sunday.

Panthers (3) at Giants (25)

Yetur Gross-Matos had three tackles at defensive end while DaQuan Jones had two and a quarterback hit at defensive tackle.

Saquan Barkley and Cam Brown remained out with injuries this week for the Giants. Austin Johnson, on the other hand had three tackles, including one for loss, and a quarterback hit in the win. 

Bengals (41) at Ravens (17)

Odafe Oweh had one tackle in the loss while Trace McSorley remained on the practice squad.

Eagles (22) at Raiders (33)

Nick Bowers was placed on injured reserve this week. Carl Nassib had a tackle as a backup in the win.

Miles Sanders had seven touches totaling 27 yards before leaving the game with an injury.

Lions (19) at Rams (28)

Amani Oruwariye made three tackles at cornerback while Jason Cabinda was inactive due to a hip injury for the Lions. 

Nick Scott had three tackles and an interception in the Rams victory. Grant Haley was signed to the Rams practice squad this week.

Texans (5) at Cardinals (31)

Michael Menet remains on the Cardinals practice squad while Jack Crawford is still on injured reserve. Ross Travis served as a backup tight end.

Bears (3) at Buccaneers (38)

Allen Robinson continues to be underutilized by the Bears and had two catches for only 16 yards while Jesse James had three for 20 yards as a backup.

Chris Godwin had himself a day and led the Buccaneers with eight catches for 111 yards and a touchdown. Donovan Smith was a part of the unit who did not allow a sack the entire game.

Colts (30) at 49ers (18)

Will Fries was inactive and Robert Windsor is still on injured reserve. Kevin Givens and Robbie Gould are still on injured reserve for the 49ers. 

Saints (13) at Seahawks (10)

John Reid was inactive for the Seahawks.

Blake Gillikin punted six times for 285 yards including a 58-yard punt and four landing inside the 20 while Juwan Johnson had a catch for eight yards.

Bye Weeks

Ryan Bates, Pat Freiermuth, Marcus Allen, Connor McGovern, Micah Parsons and Dan Chisena were all on bye weeks.

CHRIS HOGAN RETIRED

Former Penn State lacrosse player Chris Hogan retired from professional football this week. Hogan played games for the Bills, Patriots, Panthers, Jets and Saints throughout his 10 year career. 

He won two Super Bowls with the Patriots and finishes his career with 219 receptions for 2,820 yards and 19 touchdowns. 

Penn State Football Alumni Transactions

The Colts released Jordan Lucas from their practice squad.

The Rams signed Grant Haley to their practice squad.

Chris Hogan retired.

The Raiders placed Nick Bowers on injured reserve. 

The Cardinals activated Ross Travis from the practice squad for their game.
