Penn State is officially bowl-bound for the first time since 2019.

The blue and white have been selected to play in the Outback Bowl where they will face the Arkansas Razorbacks on New Year’s Day.

Following a 5-0 start to the season, the Nittany Lions endured a rough second half to the season finishing with a 7-5 record which was good enough for eighth in the Big Ten conference.

Similar to Penn State, the Razorbacks had a hot start to the season with a surprise 4-0 start which included upset wins over both Texas and Texas A&M.

The Razorbacks fell to some of the best teams in the country later on in the season including College Football Playoff teams Alabama and Georgia.

That led to an 8-4, the team’s highest win total since an 8-5 finish in 2015, and a No. 21 ranking to finish the campaign.

During its history, Penn State has appeared in four Outback Bowls, with a 3-1 record. The Nittany Lions’ last Outback Bowl appearance was on New Years’ Day in 2011, dropping the game to Florida 37-24.

The kickoff for the game is set for New Years’ Day at noon on CommRadio.
