In its only opportunity to play in front of a home crowd on its home course all season, Penn State women's golf came up short at the 2019 Nittany Lion Invitational.
The Nittany Lions finished second to Penn in the 43rd edition of the tournament, finishing eight shots back at 12-over-par. Seton Hall was two shots back in third, while the rest of the 12 team field was at least 28 shots back of the Quakers.
Coach Denise St. Pierre's squad was led by junior Olivia Zambruno and freshman Mathilde Delavallade, who both recorded their first collegiate top-10s and finished in a tie for 8th place at 3-over-par for the weekend.
Playing in their final home event, seniors Maddy Herr and Megan McLean finished in ties for 14th and 17th, respectively.
