Tom Shively
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Tom Shively is a senior from Ashburn, Virginia. He is one of the CommRadio sports directors for the 2018-19 school year. He serves as the women’s volleyball and men’s basketball producer and has broadcasted several Penn State sports including the 2018 NFL Draft as well as hosting a talk show airing weekly on CommRadio. Tom also works for GoPSUsports.com, doing feature-style coverage of women’s volleyball and women’s basketball. Brandon Pelter
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Brandon Pelter is a senior from Somers, New York. During his time with CommRadio, Brandon has served as an editor and Sports Director, and currently serves as the station’s general manager. For the past two summers, Brandon interned as a play-by-play broadcaster with the YD Red Sox of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League. He formerly interned with Westwood One Sports. Tommy Butler
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Tommy Butler has worked as both a reporter and a play by play analyst during his time at CommRadio. Tommy has written articles for the Penn State football, basketball and hockey teams, served as the beat write for almost every Penn State sport, and called baseball, soccer, basketball, football and hockey games. Tommy also works with The Armchair All-Americans as the Big Ten Department Head and Editor-in-Chief on the senior board of directors. Maddie Biertempfel
Senior / Broadcast Journalism and Political Science
Maddie Biertempfel is a senior double majoring in broadcast journalism and political science at Penn State. She currently is news director for CommRadio and a teaching assistant for both COMM165 and a first-year seminar. Previously, she interned at WPSU, where her radio stories placed 7th in the national Hearst competition for radio news and features. She’s also reported for the Centre County Report, interned at C-SPAN and Fox News, served as executive producer of Penn State Network News, and has written articles for the Centre Daily Times and Daily Collegian. Danielle is a senior at The Pennsylvania State University majoring in Broadcast Journalism and minoring in International Studies.
The Pittsburgh native has always had a passion for storytelling. She aspires to pursue a career in the sports or news industry upon graduation in the Spring of 2019.

I am a broadcast journalism major and political science minor currently studying at The Pennsylvania State University. I am expected to graduate in May 2019. After graduation I am looking for a career in on-air field reporting. I have a deep background in print, digital and broadcast journalism.

Ally Lutter
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Ally is a senior from Huntingdon Valley, PA minoring in French. Her love for sports has influenced her focus within journalism. While at Penn State she has completed a live video internship and will continue working part-time with Penn State athletics. Over the summer, Ally worked freelance as a replay operator for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Erin Johnson
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Erin is from Alexandria, Virginia, majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in International Affairs and has a focus in sports media through the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism. She is currently the President of the Association for Women in Sports Media (AWSM) at Penn State. AWSM Penn State was awarded Student Chapter of the Year for the 2017-2018 academic year by the national organization. Erin has interned with the Penn State women’s soccer team, B94.5 All the Hits radio station, and Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics. Her previous semester was spent studying Social Sciences in Amsterdam, Netherlands at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. Following graduation, Erin hopes to work in television sports broadcasting as a multimedia reporter, anchor, or producer. Caroline Pimentel

Caroline Pimentel is a native of the Dominican Republic. She is a transfer student from Penn State Hazleton and has experience in broadcast and digital reporting along with editing and control room knowledge.
