College Football Betting: Week 11

Story posted November 18, 2022 in CommRadio, Sports by Jasper Abrahams

With tons of highly-anticipated matchups this week in college football, here are some betting lines to keep an eye on.

No. 4 TCU (-2.5) vs. Baylor

The No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs are inching closer towards a spot in the College Football Playoffs. As they sit undefeated in the regular season – and also in Big 12 conference play – defenses haven't found an answer for Quarterback Max Duggan and the Frogs.

The Horned Frogs have covered their last four matchups, including against Texas as they were +7.5 and won outright. TCU is 8-1-1 overall ATS this season, marking one of the best in college football.

As for Baylor, they are coming off an embarrassing 31-3 loss against Kansas State and failed to cover their -2.5 spread. Although the Bears are 6-4 ATS this season, TCU should easily run past Baylor.

Look for TCU to stay undefeated and cover the -2.5 spread.

No. 3 Michigan vs. Illinois (under 32.5)

No. 3 Michigan currently sits undefeated at 10-0 as they aim to clinch their spot in the College Football Playoffs. Although the maize and blue have not lost this season, but one record of theirs is unlike the rest: the game total overs have not been hitting.

Michigan comes into their matchup with Illinois with a 2-7-1 record when attempting to hit the game total over. When playing at home, the total is 1-5-1.

The Illini are not much better when it comes to covering the game total. In the last 10 games, they are 4-6 and 1-2 on the road.

Michigan has been blowing teams out and this one should be a very lopsided matchup in Ann Arbor. Favor the under in this one.

Duke (+7) vs. Pitt

In an ACC matchup in Pittsburgh, Duke comes into the matchup 7-3 as they trend towards a strong bowl game.

The Blue Devils have covered in six of their last 10 matchups, and three of their last five matchups. As an underdog, they are a red-hot 3-1, while Pitt is 4-3 as a favorite.

The spread has been slightly favoring Duke as it opened at +8 and now sits at +7.

Although it’s typically never a good sign to tail the public with 77% of the total bets on the Blue Devils side, they should be able to get the job done on the road.

Ride with the Blue Devils to cover, and it won’t hurt to sprinkle the moneyline at +230.

No. 11 Penn State (-19) vs Rutgers

In a “rivalry” matchup between No. 11 Penn State and Rutgers, the Nittany Lions have dominated the Scarlet Knights of late. Since 2020, Penn State has covered the last two matchups against Rutgers as 13-point and 17-point favorites.

The Nittany Lions trend towards a New Year's Six Bowl Game, while Rutgers is clawing to get to a .500 record as they sit 4-6.

Penn State has covered four of their last five matches this season and are 3-1 ATS when on the road. As a favorite, the blue and white are also 6-2 ATS.

The spread is heavily favoring the Nittany Lions in this one as 19-point favorites and they should be able to cover with ease.
