Fantasy Football Week 4: Buy Low/Sell High Targets
Week 3 has concluded and fantasy owners are quickly finding out their team’s identity.
With three weeks of football behind us, the waiver wire and trade market across the fantasy football landscape is in full force. If you are winless in your league after three weeks, you’ve come to the right place…
Let’s take a look at some buy low/sell high options that could help you make the near impossible championship run.
Brandin Cooks (WR-HOU) is somehow managing to post great numbers even with Davis Mills throwing the football.
Historically, top-end wide receivers need solid quarterback play to sustain elite point production. The Texans face Josh Allen and the aggressive Bills defense which spells trouble for Cooks.
Although he has had 18+ points in each of his first three games, don’t be surprised if Cooks is held to single digits this week. If you can get an RB2 in a trade, send it. He certainly won’t be able to keep up this production for the whole season.
Rob Gronkowski (TE-TB) is another overperforming player. In just three games, he has racked up 62.4 fantasy points mainly because of his end zone presence. After back-to-back two touchdown games, Gronk seemed banged up after week three and is questionable for a crucial game against the Patriots.
At 32 years of age, there is a good chance Gronk gets injured before the end of the season. If you can sucker someone into giving up a fringe WR2 or RB2, don’t blink.
One wide receiver in particular has not lived up to expectations thus far. Calvin Ridley (WR-ATL) was a projected top five wide receiver coming into the season but is currently sitting at WR30. His value will not get any lower.
He gets a ton of targets and Matt Ryan will continue to look for him in the end zone. Be patient. Once this offense gets moving a bit, expect Calvin Ridley to explode. He’s seen double digit targets in both of the last two games and will continue to see high volume. Snag this stud before it’s too late.
If you are winless or struggling with just one win, take a chance and make that trade. As Aaron Rodgers says, “R-E-L-A-X.”
