Hobey Baker Watch: Week 7

The weather is getting colder, but these players are only heating up as college hockey continues. With the season raging on, who is showing up on the watchlist?

Adam Fantilli, Forward, Michigan
He’s here yet again, deservingly so of course. Fantilli is still at the top of the points list with 23. He also leads in average points per game with 1.92.

Like it’s been said before, Fantilli is extremely talented and he’s one of the younger players in the league at 18.

Michigan’s offense is still considered one of the best in the whole NCAA, and the source of it all? Adam Fantilli.

Devon Levi, Goaltender, Northeastern
Sabres fans have a lot to be excited about when Levi eventually takes the crease for Buffalo. The junior has been solid through 11 games sporting a 6-2-3 record with two shutouts.

Northeastern is only allowing an average of two goals against a game. Devon Levi is a big reason why the Huskies have scored almost double the goals their opponents have.

A 1.88 goals against average and a .941 save percentage are worth noticing and if Levi continues this play we could see him with the Hobey Baker trophy or a Sabres sweater real soon.

Matthew Coronato, Forward, Harvard
The 2021 first round draft pick makes his debut on this list. Coming into this week, the sophomore has 10 points in six games helping Harvard to a 6-0 record.

Flames fans are loving their prospect, and hope he’s a part of their core in the near future because his talent will bolster an already talented offense.

Coronato is looking to build off of a strong 2021-22 season where he scored 36 points through 34 games. He if continues to produce this season, there’s a possibility we see his name on the Hobey Baker award finalist sheet.

Dylan St. Cyr, Goaltender, Michigan
Here come the Spartans with St. Cyr guarding the twine. The former Quinnipiac Bobcat is finding himself a home at Michigan State. The Spartans are having a great year, causing problems for higher-ranked teams.

St. Cyr is the saint of brick walls. A .936 save percentage and 2.00 goals against average make him worthy of this article.

With a 7-3-1 record, he puts the “saint” in St. Cyr, and Michigan State surely found their Michigan saint.
