NHL Top 10: March 15

Story posted March 15, 2023 in CommRadio, Sports by James Morrison

1. Boston Bruins

The Bruins have been the best team in the NHL all season long and with their additions of Dmitry Orlov, Garnett Hathaway and Tyler Bertuzzi, they are just getting better.

Even with the losses of Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno to injury, the Bruins have kept winning and they will be getting both of those players back just in time for the playoffs.

Barring a late-season collapse the Bruins should be the Presidents Trophy champions.

2. New Jersey Devils

The Devils got the top target of the trade deadline in Timo Meier and he has some room to grow on a line with Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt.

Even though they have dropped their last two games, they are 6-4 in their last ten and will play the struggling Lightning in their next game.

3. Dallas Stars

Dallas added Max Domi and Evgenii Dadonov at the deadline to shore up the offense and now the Stars have one of the deepest forward groups in the league as Jamie Benn and Wyatt Johnston are playing on the third line.

The Stars have won three straight and are 7-2-1 in their last ten games.

4. Vegas Golden Knights

Vegas is leading the Pacific Division and has been dealt a lot of injuries but they continue to win games.

The Golden Knights had some holes to fill and added Ivan Barbashev to play on the top line, Teddy Blueger to center the fourth line and Jonathan Quick to start in net.

5. Toronto Maple Leafs

Toronto just lost Ryan O’Reilly to injury but has the forward power to pick up where they left off as the depth acquisitions of Sam Lafferty and Noel Acciari will help the stars like Mitchell Marner, Auston Matthews and William Nylander.

The goaltending duo of Matt Murray and Ilya Samsonov has held up well as of late and if they want postseason success they need it to do so.

6. Minnesota Wild

Minnesota lost Kirill Kaprizov due to injury but they have collected points in their last ten games by going 7-0-3.
Filip Gustavsson has been outstanding for the Wild this year and the defense is one of the best groups in the NHL after adding John Klingberg.

7. Caroline Hurricanes

The Hurricanes have lost their last two and the news does not get better as star forward Andrei Svechnikov will be out for the season.

Carolina has a lot of ways they can try to replace his production such as moving someone like Teuvo Teravainen or Jesse Puljujarvi to the top line.

8. Los Angeles Kings

The Kings have gotten at least a point in eight out of their last ten games and sit firmly in playoff position.

They revamped their goaltending situation with Joonas Korpisalo, added a defenseman in Vladislav Gavrikov and added depth up front with Zack MacEwan.

9. Colorado Avalanche

Colorado has won their last two games although they have just lost Artturi Lehkonen to injury.

The Avalanche did not do much at the trade deadline but they did get Lars Eller who will be a very valuable center for the team.

10. New York Rangers

The Rangers just built a super team with Vladimir Tarasenko and Patrick Kane but it has not panned out as they are 4-5-1 in their last ten games.
