Entering the week, Penn State had just two defensive linemen in its 2023 class, but in just two days, that number has doubled.

On Monday, the Nittany Lions gained the commitment of four-star edge rusher Joseph Mupoyi. Tuesday was a similar story as three-star edge Mason Robinson announced his decision to join the program.

Robinson was formerly committed to Northwestern, but he decommitted earlier in the week. He took an official visit with the blue and white on Dec. 9, and he had an in-home visit with the Nittany Lion staff on Monday.

The Owings Mills, Maryland, native is the 10th-ranked player in Maryland and the 65th-ranked lineman in the class, according to 247sports.

He hails from the McDonogh School, joining fellow alums Dani Dennis-Sutton, Dvon Ellies, Curtis Jacobs and PJ Mustipher in Happy Valley.

Robinson is the No. 21 player in Penn State’s class and the fourth defensive linemen pairing up with Mupoyi, Jameial Lyons and Tyriq Blanding.

The Nittany Lions class ranks No. 14 in the country, a few days away from Early National Signing Day.
