Some students admit to the Centre County Report that they take canning money and use it to pay for expenses. They have told reporters that they aren't the only students who do this. Taking money out is a violation of THON rules, so the students only agreed to talk to us if we concealed their identities. THON raised over $9.5 million to support families of kids with cancer last year.
