Indian Tribes Lasting Hold on Society

Story/Video posted November 6, 2019 in Arts & Entertainment by David Green.

The HUB held an art exhibition honoring various Indian Tribes, and showcased a variety of Native American artwork. Even after the Southeast Indian Tribes were driven from their land, relatives continued their ancestor's work to honor their heritage.

Benjamin Schiavone, a graduate student, found the art interesting to study and look at because of all the history behind such simple works of art. For him, he looks at the art collection as replica artifacts, and it helps him relate and contemplate a different time in history.

The "We Never Left" art collection is meant to provoke thought on the past, and celebrate the history and community pride the Indian Tribes went through over 200 years ago.
