The final Penn State player in the transfer portal has decided to return for his final season. John Harrar ended last season as the Nittany Lions leading rebounder, and after testing the waters in the transfer portal, he has decided to return to Penn State as confirmed by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Harrar received interest from numerous schools including some in the Big Ten. He finished last season with 8.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game as the senior had a breakout season in the starting lineup.

Harrar gained respect throughout the season for his continued toughness every game and love for the Penn State basketball program. That respect was shared by some Big Ten coaches.

Against some of the top teams in the country, Harrar continued to get better throughout the season and had double-digit rebounds in 12 games. Two of those games came in the Big Ten tournament.

His best game this season came in a close loss to Michigan State where he put up 17 points and 14 rebounds, both of which tied his season highs.

Harrar joins Izaiah Brockington and Seth Lundy as Nittany Lions who tested the transfer portal this offseason but will return to Penn State under new head coach Micah Shrewsberry.
