Penn State in the NFL: Week 3

Week 3 is one of the most pivotal weeks in the NFL for teams where they either go above .500 or below. Let’s see how the former Nittany Lions helped their teams this week.

Panthers (24) @ Texans (9)

DaQuan Jones racked up a tackle on defense while Yetur Gross-Matos was inactive with an ankle injury for the Panthers.

Football Team (21) @ Bills (43)

Ryan Bates served as a backup interior offensive lineman for the Bills and Troy Apke made a tackle for Washington while Shaka Toney remains inactive.

Bears (6) @ Browns (26)

Allen Robinson caught two passes for 27 yards and Jesse James was the Bears' backup tight end.

Ravens (19) @ Lions (17)

Rookie Odafe Oweh recorded four tackles and a quarterback hit while Trace McSorley remained on the Ravens' practice squad.

For the Lions Jason Cabinda had a tackle and Amani Oruwariye had a great game with four tackles, a pass defended and a crucial interception which led to a go-ahead field goal at the time.

Colts (16) @ Titans (25)

Will Fries remained an inactive and Robert Windsor is still on injured reserve for the Colts. Sam Ficken is still on injured reserve for the Titans.

Saints (28) @ Patriots (13)

For the Saints, Chris Hogan and Juwan Johnson each recorded a target. Blake Gillikin punted five times for 249 yards with a long of 56 yards.

Falcons (17) @ Giants (14)

Saquon Barkley totaled 94 yards on the day and scored a touchdown for the Giants. Austin Johnson also had a big game with five tackles including a sack and a quarterback hit.

Cam Brown was placed on injured reserve.

Bengals (24) @ Steelers (10)

Pat Freiermuth caught his first career NFL touchdown for the Steelers in the loss while also having 22 yards on three catches. Marcus Allen served as a backup linebacker.

Cardinals (31) @ Jaguars (19)

Jack Crawford is on injured reserve and Ross Travis is on the practice squad for the Cardinals.

Jets (0) @ Broncos (26)

KJ Hamler had a catch for 28 yards for the Broncos before tearing his ACL in the game, ending his season.

Dolphins (28) @ Raiders (31)

Mike Gesicki was the leading receiver for the Dolphins with 86 yards on 10 catches on the day. Carl Nassib had four tackles and half a sack in the victory while Nick Bowers remained inactive for the Raiders.

Buccaneers (24) @ Rams (34)

Chris Godwin had 74 receiving yards and a rushing touchdown on the day while Donovan Smith continued to protect Tom Brady. Nick Scott made two tackles in the game for the Rams.

Seahawks (17) @ Vikings (30)

Dan Chisena is on injured reserve for the Vikings and John Reid served as a backup cornerback for the Seahawks.

Packers (30) @ 49ers (28)

Adrian Amos made five tackles for the Packers in the Sunday night thriller. Robbie Gould made all four extra points for the 49ers.

Kevin Givens was placed on injured reserve.

Eagles (21) @ Cowboys (41)

Miles Sanders only had two carriesfor 27 yards for the Eagles while also catching three passes for 28 yards.

Micah Parsons continued his strong rookie of the year campaign for the Cowboys with four tackles, half of a sack, a tackle for loss, a pass defended and a quarterback hit. Connor McGovern remained a strong part of the Cowboys offensive line. 

Penn State Football Alumni Transactions:

The 49ers placed Kevin Givens on injured reserve.

The Giants placed Cam Brown on injured reserve.
