The Battle of The Brothers: Jason Kelce vs Travis Kelce
The Kelce Brothers are making history as they are officially the first brothers to play against each other in a Super Bowl.
Imagine being their parents.
Not only does Donna and Ed Kelce have two sons in the NFL but they have two sons playing against each other in the biggest football game of the year.
Because the brothers are both offensive players they won’t actually share the field at the same time, but at least that makes matters easier for their parents so they can just cheer for whichever team has the ball.
This matchup may just be the craziest we have seen in a while and this is really any man’s game, or I guess I should say any brother’s game….
At least one thing is for certain, Donna and Ed will be leaving with a win!
As if things weren’t already hectic enough for the Kelces, Jason Kelce’s wife, Kylie McDevitt, will be 38 weeks pregnant with their third child come Sunday.
Just in case this baby also decides to attend this family outing, her OBGYN is joining her at the Superbowl.
Let’s hope she doesn’t give birth or else State Farm Stadium will be crawling with Kelces.
Travis Kelce, the Chiefs' star tight end, is a four-time All-Pro and eight-time Pro Bowler.
This is Travis’ third trip to the Super Bowl but he only has one championship to his name.
His first and only ring (so far) is from the Chiefs' 2020 Super Bowl win against San Francisco.
His Super Bowl loss however was in 2021, the following year, to Tom Brady and the Bucs.
This Kelce Brother may have lost to Tom Brady, but the other one has a huge Superbowl win over him.
In the past few seasons, we have seen Travis Kelce improve more than we ever thought was possible.
At this point it is safe to say, he is one of the best tight ends this league has ever seen.
This year he broke the NFL record for most consecutive and most overall seasons with 1,000 yards receiving by a tight end with seven.
He also broke the record for the most games with 100+ receiving yards by a tight end in NFL history, passing Gronk (35 games).
On top of that, he broke his own record for the most passes caught by a tight end in a playoff game with 14 catches.
He is second in the league in receiving touchdowns with 12. However, he is more than capable of catching up to Davante Adams who leads the league with 14 receiving touchdowns as of now.
No doubt, he has had one of his best seasons yet.
Chiefs fan or not, this guy is just plain fun to watch.
Just like his brother, Jason Kelce is another outstanding athlete who is extremely hard to dislike.
This Kelce brother is the Philadelphia Eagles center and heart of their team.
We all know how passionate Philly fans are, but I still don’t think anyone loves Philly as much as Jason. He was drafted by Philly in 2011 and has been an Eagle since.
He is a perfect match for Philly fans' energy and they love him for it.
Jason Kelce has been to and won one Super Bowl in 2018 against Tom Brady and the Patriots.
Even though he only has one ring, this makes him undefeated in the Super Bowl and that is more than his younger brother can say.
Jason has more than just a ring though, he is a five-time All-Pro and a six-time Pro Bowler.
Travis isn’t the only record breaker in the family, as of December Jason now holds the record for most regular season games played by a lineman in Eagles franchise history with 170 games.
Not only does he have 170 starts under his belt, but 133 of them are consecutive.
Both of these two are class acts and their relationship is unmatched.
The brothers share their relationship with the world ever since starting their famous and hilarious podcast at the start of this season.
Their podcast “New Heights” is released every Wednesday and fans tune in to hear the brothers recap the previous NFL week, talk some smack on each other and laugh… a lot.
In just six short months of launching their podcast, they are the No. 1 sports podcast in the world and the No. 1 podcast on Apple.
These two are just as good at talking as they are at football.
After listening to their Superbowl podcast with their parents, fans are just getting more and more amped up for this game.
Throughout this entire season, it has been extremely wholesome to watch these brothers show endless amounts of support to each other.
The brothers from Cleveland Heights, Ohio played on the same team up until being drafted. From the same high school team to the same college team to head-to-head in the Superbowl.
Not something any of us really saw coming but we are all here for it.
Once teammates, now competitors, always brothers.
