CCR Web Update - November 21st, 2013
This week we take a look at how some people are preparing for Black Friday. We also introduce John Johnson, a Penn State Basketball transfer student, and his road to getting back in the game.

Alex Eliasof
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Alex is a senior broadcast journalism major from Verona, New Jersey.
Here at Penn State he is a news director at ComRadio and is a part of the Centre County Report staff. In addition to being a news director, on ComRadio he also works on the sports staff. Alex has called play-by-play for baseball, basketball, soccer and volleyball (ranging from high school, to Penn State athletics to minor league baseball). Alex co-hosts “Shooting the Breeze,” an hour-long show that brings the latest in news, entertainment and sports at Penn State and across the world.
Prior to Centre County Report, Alex also worked on the PSNtv staff. For PSNtv he was a news anchor for PSN News Live. He was also a reporter and panelist for “Penn State Sports Night,” the station’s biweekly sports show.
Alex has worked with a variety of stations and teams. During Summer 2013 he was an internet broadcaster for the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League. In Spring 2013 he completed an internship with the sports branch of WPSU, a PBS affiliate station in State College. In Summer 2012 he was a media intern for the Newark Bears minor league baseball team.
Outside of the College of Comm, Alex also partakes in THON.

Eric DeBerardinis
Junior / Broadcast Journalism
Eric DeBerardinis is a senior majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in business. Eric both anchors and reports for the Centre County Report. He has been a member of ComRadio for four years, and is also a part of the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism.
Eric is interested in all forms of media. He aims to land a job within the sports industry, but is also interested in news and entertainment. Ideally, he would work in the Philadelphia market as a TV or radio host covering his favorite teams.
Previously, Eric has interned with 94.7 WDSD, TheFanHub.com, PHL17, Ryan Seacrest’s The Voice Foundation, B94.5 and CBS3-Philadelphia.

Bernard Bennett-Green
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Bernard is an aspiring broadcast journalist, aiming for a career in the sports industry. Centre County Report is his first newscast. Outside of CCR, Bernard currently is Vice President for PSJAD and is a peer mentor for the Diversity Ambassadors on campus. Besides broadcast journalism, Bernard is currently a sprinter on the Penn State track and field team.

Molly Cochran
Senior /
Molly is a senior at the Penn State University graduating in December 2013. She is a reporter and Thursday night weathercaster for the Centre County Report. Molly has interned with AccuWeather Inc. and WJAC-tv in Johnstown, Pa. She aspires to be an on air meteorologist and reporter.

Cristina Recino
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Cristina Recino is a senior at the Pennsylvania State University. She will graduate in May of 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sociology. This fall she will join Centre County Report, a weekly live news program produced by Penn State students and faculty.
Cristina has immersed herself in the entertainment world of journalism and has continued to grow as a storyteller through her various courses, extracurricular clubs and activities and internship experiences.
This summer Cristina interned with Vh1.com with their digital production team. She was also one of 100 summer interns chosen from 1,300 applicants for a selective professional development program with the T.Howard Foundation. She hopes to one day become an entertainment news reporter for a major entertainment network.
